BE REAL

HERE ARE 3 REASONS WHY ESSAYMOM IS FANATICAL ABOUT STORIES:

YOUR STORY IS YOURS ALONE.

By drawing the reader into your world with lots of details and memory that are unique to you, you distinguish yourself from applicants with the same GPA and test scores.

1

A STORY IS AN INVITATION...

2

to observe you operating in your world, and  in so doing, admissions officers can better imagine you operating effectively in theirs.

3

A STORY IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY...

to explore a positive quality that's only touched on elsewhere in your application. For example, Clare  wrote about performing a scene from "Hamlet"for her English project as if it were taking place in a Las Vegas boxing ring. Her essay reminds the reader that she's an amazing English student, and, addtionally, showcases her creativity and sense of humor.

Likewise, a story provides an opportunity to explain negative information, like a D in Calc; Kate wrote a hilarious essay about her impossible math teacher and the wonderful tutor who helped her to see the beauty of implicit differentiation.

TELL YOUR STORY.
